A compact recording studio in Amsterdam Centrum built around playing together, controlled vocals and clear files.
Built for live and vocals
Monoxyleorix has worked from a former warehouse on Grote Bickersstraat since 2019. We set up the live room for bands who want to play at once, and the booth for vocals, rap and narration. In control you hear what you will mix: no heavy processing during tracking.
Every session has a dedicated engineer. Sophie aligns scheduling and production, Daan handles live and vocal tracks, Iris finishes mixes and masters — on site or remotely.
The rooms
Live room — 28 m²
Space for drums, bass, guitar and keys together, sight lines to control and separate headphone mixes.
Vocal booth — 6 m²
Treated booth for singing and speech, linked to control through glass.
Control — 14 m²
Symmetrical monitoring, 2 nearfield pairs and room to decide without rushing.
Gear without the catalogue
We run 12 preamps and routing that switches quickly between band and vocal setups. We would rather explain what a microphone does for your voice or instrument than flash a brand list. Ask in your quote request what is booked for your date.
Address and access
Grote Bickersstraat 74, 1013 KS Amsterdam (Amsterdam Centrum). Tram 13 (Westerdok stop) and bus 22 (Haarlemmer Houttuinen stop) are within walking distance. From Amsterdam Centraal station it is about a twelve-minute walk via Haarlemmer Houttuinen and Grote Bickersstraat. No private parking; paid street parking or Q-Park Centrale Markt.
